Amazing.

LEXIQUETTE

Mihoko Ogaki, from Toride Japan is a thing of wonders. Her newest series, “Milky Way-Breath” consists of sculptures of decaying bodies whose reflected light creates beautiful images of stars and night skies. This installation, this idea of rebirth and cycles, how death can create life and vice versa, is something that we find recurring in Ogaki’s work. I personally think this is beautiful.

“The new series Milky Ways by Mihoko Ogaki is about life, and the living individual including its emotions like sadness, joy, delight or even jealousy, rather than the topics birth and death, that already have been analyzed in the earlier series before thebeginning – after the end.” –Constanze Friederike Rabanus in an essay on the Milky Way series

mgmggmggg

I can’t get over how beautiful this is! See more work on the website
