They have me, again

From top left: Band of Brothers, Game of Thrones, Girls, Mildred Pierce, Six Feet Under, The Newsroom, The Sopranos, The Wire, Vikings.
I´m soon to be a true HBO fan. So much great – and diverse – stories told at one place. After a couple of Vikings-episodes I thought it was good but maybe not something I´d necessarily watch everything of. But tonight after episode 5 I´m lost. It is very captivating. The actors didn´t interest me much until this fifth episode, I needed to get to know them it seems. Now I´ve done some reading and I found that Ragnar Lothbrok is played by an Australian, Travis Fimmel. I have a soft spot for Australians after living in Sydney for a couple of years. His character is quite fascinating. So is the young monk Athelstan played by George Bladgen, and Floke played by Gustaf Skarsgård. And I really love that the shield maiden Lagertha (Katherine Winnick) is at least as tough as the men.
I also highly recommend The Newsroom. It´s not many episodes (I suppose more are in the making?) but the ones made give a fascinating insight in a stressful office filled with interesting people. Game of Thrones is my favourite at the time although The Wire stands for me as the best series made as a whole so far. That was like reading five extremely good books.
I love this life of streaming, soon all my DVD´s will find their way down to the storeroom to join all my CD´s I guess. Streaming and an old fashion record player of vinyl, that would be perfect.
